Orbis-TE (Tamper-Evident Torque Testers)

The Orbis-TE range, while retaining all the properties of the Orbis range, offers an additional facility specifically for testing tamper-evident closures.
Both an Orbis and an Orbis-TE can capture the peak torque necessary to overcome friction and initiate rotation of the closure - the 'slip torque'. However an Orbis-TE will also capture a (lower) 2nd peak - the 'bridge torque'. This corresponds to the point at which the tensile load applied to the 'bridges' (connecting the closure to a tamper-evident band or drop-ring) is sufficient for the first bridge to break. A single button push will then allow both values to be downloaded to a PC or printer. The Orbis-TE is available with a capacity of 10, 6 or 1.5N.m

Vortex Motorized Torque Test System

The Vortex is a twin-column motorised torque testing machine. Speed is set with a rotary potentiomer controller. Either speed or total rotation is indicated on an LCD display. Torque is measured by a `smart` static torque transducer and displayed on an AFTI.
